| Li Jikai was born in Sichuan in 1975. He is very much of an introvert who is absorbed in his own persona and his childhood experience, or in the the physically and culturally depleted world surrounding him. Li Jikai wants to express the conflicts he has felt witnessing his parents' generations experience and the impact of the great social changes in China from the 90's onwards.
Li Jikai studied in the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts and graduated in 2004. He now lives in Wuhan and teaches at the Hubei Academy of Fine Arts. His works have been exhibited at the Today Museum in Beijing, as well as in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Spain and the US. | |||
