| Born in Beijing in 1973 into a painters' family and trained in block printing andillustration, BU Hua is already a well-known player in the field of Chinese animation with a major following among cartooners on-line.
Her allegoric works such as Savage Growth are imaginative and existential. They explore the hazy border between reality, free will and meaning of life in a persistent lucid dream-like state against the background of an unstable urbanised landscape. Accompanied by audio tracks created by experimental musicians such as Dead J., her films are made using digital vectorized drawings, usually in Flash. | |||
